The Sign

Bowl gets emptied in 90 seconds. Then he stares at you. Then he stares at the bowl. Then he stares at you again. You've started calling him a goblin.

Why It Happens

Extruded kibble can sit and float in the stomach as it bloats from contact with stomach acid. That delays the satiety signal, so the dog doesn't quite feel full. The empty bowl gets cleared. The hungry stare comes back.

I worked in kibble for years. Here's why I started Nextrition.

My name's Jim. I spent years inside the kibble industry. I saw what went into the bags. I saw what got sprayed on at the end. I saw the difference between what the marketing said and what the manufacturing actually looked like.

None of it made me proud to feed my own dog from those bags. So I started over. I built a patent-pending production line in Illinois, found a process that didn't cook the goodness out of the ingredients, and made the kind of food I'd actually want to put in my own dog's bowl.
