How We Pack 12lbs of Stomach-Friendly Nutrition Into Every 4.5-Pound Bag

If you've been hunting for a dog food for sensitive stomachs, you've probably watched your dog react to "premium" bags that were supposed to be the gentle ones.

They're packed with cheap fillers, mystery meat meals, and processed junk that's hard on the gut and robs your dog of the nutrition they desperately need.

That's why we do the opposite. We concentrate over 12 lbs of real ingredients, including more than 3 pounds of real meat, into every 4.5-pound bag. We gently extract moisture and cold-press everything to create incredibly nutrient-dense food that's easy to digest, easy on sensitive stomachs, and irresistible to even the pickiest eaters.

The whole ingredients that go into one 4.5 pound bag
12 pounds of easily digestible nutrients

No fillers or mystery ingredients that wreak havoc in your dog's stomach. Just premium ingredients you'd recognize from your own grocery store.

Why Cold-Pressing Makes Dog Food Easy On The Digestive Tract

High-heat kibble strips out the natural enzymes that help a dog break food down, so a sensitive stomach has to work harder on every meal. Because we cold-press instead of cooking it hot, those enzymes stay intact — so your dog digests more easily and reacts less.

That's the whole idea behind Nextrition's dog food for sensitive stomachs. Your pup will love our short, recognizable recipe that settles the gut, supports firmer stools, and takes the worry out of mealtime.

How much should I feed my dog?

Cold-pressed dog food is more nutritionally-rich than traditional kibble. This means that your dog needs around 30% less of Nextrition when compared to kibble. To make sure your dog is getting their dietary requirements met, please see the serving guidelines shipped with our food.

Still not sure? We’re here for you! Just email us at hello@nextritionpet.com and one of our team members will reach out to you soon.

Why do dogs with sensitive stomachs do better on Nextrition?

It depends on your dog, but cold-pressed has a few things going for it. It's made at low heat, so the nutrients and natural flavor stay intact. It leads with real meat and skips fillers. And because the pellet breaks down slowly instead of swelling, a lot of dogs find it easier to digest. It's also dense, so most dogs need about 30% less than kibble.

Is Nextrition worth the price?

If you have already worked through several bags that did not agree with your dog, yes. The food is nutrient dense enough that most dogs eat about 30% less than they would of kibble, so the cost per meal lands closer to standard dry food than the bag price suggests.

A $9.99 trial pack gives you all four recipes in smaller sizes, so you can see which protein your dog settles on before committing.

My dog has been on kibble for years. Will they adjust?

Most do, but go slower than usual. We recommend 10 to 14 days for a sensitive dog rather than the standard 7, mixing a small amount in and increasing it gradually. Most owners see stool consistency settle within the first two to three weeks once the transition is finished.

To help your dog get started with our cold-pressed food, you will get a daily feeding guide with your first order.

How do I store it, and how long does it last?

Keep it in the original resealable bag in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight. It's shelf-stable, so it doesn't need refrigeration. Check the best-by date printed on the bag, and once it's opened, seal it after each use to keep it fresh.

Dog Food Made for Sensitive Stomachs

If your dog deals with loose stools, gas, or bloating after meals, their food is usually the first place to look. Not just what is in it, but how it was made. Every recipe in this collection is built around one goal: giving dogs with sensitive digestion something they can actually thrive on.

Nextrition is pressed at low temperatures instead of extruded at high heat. Traditional kibble swells inside the stomach and can take hours to break down, while our pellets dissolve gradually, which reduces bloating and supports smoother digestion from the first bite. Every recipe includes prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics to nourish the gut and support consistent, healthy stools.

Signs Your Dog Has a Sensitive Stomach

A sensitive stomach is not a diagnosis, it is a pattern. Some dogs struggle to digest certain proteins, others react to fillers, high fat formulas, or heavily processed food. Common signs include:

  • Loose stools or intermittent diarrhea
  • Excessive gas or gurgling sounds after meals
  • Vomiting or regurgitation shortly after eating
  • Bloating or visible discomfort around mealtime
  • Bad breath or inconsistent appetite

If these sound familiar, the issue often is not just the ingredients, it is how conventional kibble is processed. If gas is the main symptom you are seeing, our dog food for gassy dogs covers that specific problem.

Why Processing Matters for a Sensitive Stomach

Standard kibble is extruded at temperatures above 120°C. That process destroys heat sensitive nutrients and live probiotics, and creates a hard pellet that rapidly absorbs moisture in the gut, expanding and causing the discomfort many sensitive dogs experience after eating.

Cold pressing works differently. Our recipes are compressed at lower temperatures, preserving natural enzymes, vitamins, and live probiotics. The dense pellet breaks down gradually in the stomach without swelling, which is why dogs who have struggled on conventional dry food often settle within a few weeks of switching.

What to Look for in a Sensitive Stomach Dog Food

Not every formula marketed for sensitive stomachs is worth the claim. Here is what actually moves the needle:

Short ingredient lists and one named protein
Fewer ingredients make it easier to identify and eliminate dietary triggers. Our limited ingredient recipes are the best starting point for dogs with known food intolerances.

Prebiotic fiber
Chicory root and pumpkin feed the beneficial bacteria in your dog's gut, supporting a balanced microbiome and more consistent stools. Both are in every Nextrition recipe.

Probiotics that survive processing
Live cultures only help if they make it through manufacturing intact. Because we press rather than extrude, the five probiotic strains in every recipe are preserved, which is not the case with most kibble.

No common irritants
Corn, soy, wheat, and artificial preservatives are among the most frequent culprits in sensitive stomach reactions. Our recipes leave them out entirely.
